The knee pillow is a Japanese invention used to prevent unnecessary splashing (out of the toilet and onto the floor) when a man pees. You see, they've discovered that kneeling puts you closer to the water, and the result is a much smaller spash.

Apparently, Panasonic did a study in 2007, and it also really matters where men aim in the bowl. Go for the center, men, it really results in fewer stray droplets jumping out of the toilet. Panasonic changed their marketing to reflect the comfort of their toilet seats, and many Japanese men sit to pee. Interesting, no? The Knee Pillow product is a result of that study, and it provides an alternative to sitting. Get the idea?

Oh my goodness. I love that it's a product designed just for men and it's pink.
I find this product more than a little disturbing...
